Cal and his brothers turned their backs on the family business over a hundred years ago. Hell is tired of waiting for them to return.

Cal

I’ve never wanted a relationship—especially not with a human. With my father demanding my return to Hell and a demon leaving dead bodies in my bookshop, now is not the time to lose my heart.

One look in Oscar’s broken eyes, and I know I’m in trouble. Oscar’s been hurt before, and everything in me screams to keep him safe. How can I do that when I know being with me will only put him in more danger?

More importantly, am I strong enough to walk away from him?

Oscar

After escaping my last relationship with broken bones and an anxiety disorder, I’m tired of living half a life. My world revolves around my classroom, flat, and best friend. When fate throws Cal in my path, he seems too good to be true. He looks like he’s been pulled from my fantasies, and my baggage doesn’t scare him. Ok, so there’s the tiny issue of him being a demon, but I’ve dealt with far scarier.

I’ve been broken once before, and I don’t think I’d survive it again. Can I let down my barriers enough to let Cal in?

Devil’s Mark is the first in The Reckless Damned series but can be enjoyed as a standalone. It contains mature content.

What a great story. I couldn't stop listening the audiobook. The characters were engaging and was the secondary characters.

Love this story!

I feel like different narrators could have been used. Dan did great but I didn't really like Joel's narration.

it was good

not a fan of 1 of the narrators, he doesn't really change his voice when doing the different characters. Books great, story is great. Just kinda loose interest with the 1 narrator.

great book

The story is pretty well written. The MC is likeable enough and the author knows how to write trauma reactions. The MMC is good too not the typical controlling type.
The downside to this book, unfortunately, is the narrators. Dan is not bad, he has moments where he forgets the accent and quiets his voice so much that you need to raise the volume in order to be able to hear it. Joel has too breathy of a voice to be taken seriously, especially the spicy scenes. His accents and attempts at different voicesare wonky sometimes too.

Good story but....

This book, as the first in a series of four, really sets the tone for the whole thing. These brothers are the demonic version of cinnamon rolls, with a generous side of murder. Cal is absolutely adorable in how he cares for and protects Oscar. The entire story is well written and although it handles some more difficult subjects, it does so with a lot of care and compassion but also without dimming the budding love between Cal and Oscar. Calley is an excellent narrator, with Leslie complimenting well. There were some points where Leslie didn't seem quite in sync with the character, but it was an overall good performance. Absolutely worth reading both this and the entire series.

Cute and Spicy!
