What made the experience of listening to Developing Lean Leaders at All Levels the most enjoyable?

The content of the book is pretty decent, but the narration was the worst I have ever heard. Another review compared it to the computer generated audio of a 1980s computer. I think that is a pretty good description. Siri or Cortana would have sounded much more human than this actual human narrator.

How could the performance have been better?

I had my friend who is a musician listen to the audio to tell me if he knew why it sounded so bad. He guessed that the audio had been run through some sort of pitch correcting software which had the effect of making the human narrator sound like a really bad computer generated narration.

Would you try another book from Jeffrey K. Liker and George Trachilis and/or Ron Carter?

I like Jeffrey Liker, but this book did not deliver. The content was OK but it was not a guide on how to, and it wasn't enlightening with information not found elsewhere. The narration was so bland it sounded like a 1980's computer.

Very high level covering many topics. Not enough details in any given topic to apply without further research or hiring a consultant. It would be a good book to help formulate a vision for a company just starting their Lean Journey,
