A destiny uncovered...a hidden world...and dragons.
After a car accident left my only parent - my father - in the hospital, I was swept away to the Dragon Born Academy by my estranged grandmother. If I had to be there, I'd be an observer of this place with its rituals and superstitions.... After all, everyone's made it clear I don't belong.
But then it happened...and Ashe Carrick - my impossibly irresistible bond-mate - happened. Being cracked open changed everything.... Who I thought I was, what I thought I was....
Dragon born.
The words alone bring to mind monsters and princesses in castles.
I am the princess and the monster they locked away. However, my story has no damsels in distress, waiting to be rescued.
It's self-rescue time, and I'm done playing nice.

Just Couldn’t

I had this on my wish list for a few months. I was very disappointed. The synopsis made the FMC sound like a tough, no nonsense young woman who takes on the dragons. What you get is a scared, emotional 16 year old girl who is thrown into the river of Dragonborn without a boat. The adults around her leaves her in the dark about her people even though everyone knows she didn't know squat. She sinks and swims on her own and with a couple of good friends. The part of the story I really didn't like (SPOILER COMING) is that she is bonded to a 23 year old man. You can see the difference in maturity levels and it made me cringe. I actually felt sorry for her and how the adults around her treated her.
This is definitely geared to the preteen, teenage crowd.
Disappointed
