Lost and forgotten, Castor is a prisoner of the very Iron Empire he once served.

Thought of as a common criminal, Castor guards his dangerous secret—that he has bound a second Symbol—with his life. If the Censors knew, they’d execute him on the spot.

There is only one path to freedom and avenging his family.

He must earn it no longer as a member of the Iron Legions, but by spilling blood for one of the great Houses.

The dead gods stir in their rotting slumber. Dangerous enemies stalk his new master. Surrounded on all sides, Castor must learn the secrets of his Cor Heart and reach new heights of power before it is too late.

And in the wake of his Ascent comes the first sign of change–A COLD WIND.

Loved this book!
The first book gave us action, but the second adds so much excitement! Gladiators and tournaments and I’m in, crazy thing is that’s just the tip of the iceberg so much more with every chapter . Can’t wait for the next

Gladiator!!

Love the power system and character work. Intrigue is a cool plus, and the fight scenes are great.

Love the characters

It is hard to believe they could outdo the first book. However, not only is the storyline stronger, the character development, the global picture and even the pace are markedly improved. 10/10 would recommend

Rarely is the second better than the first…

Perfect follow up to the first book in my opinion
Without spoiling, I think this book does really well showing the power/potential of Castor while still humbling him.

This was a non stop, couldn’t put down book and that doesn’t happen too often these days. Cold Wind was right up my alley of what interests me. If you enjoyed the first book you will enjoy this as well. I believe the first book had a better ending, but this one was better overall.

Continuing greatness

this book is very good, there is a slow start for Castor but it's almost required to do things that way for both the character Castor and you the reader to pull yourself back in to realize how much shit your in collectively speaking. You survive a massacre only to end up a slave.. or are you? this book follows a similar pathway to redemption as Gladiator did as a movie. There will be blood, lies and assassination, but also some kind of friendship in the middle of all of the straightforward you must beat everyones head in fun. And this book is fun, even if the Magister responsible for training Castor would see him only train his... second heart and maybe drive him insane by "helping" the sheer amount of helping these people do is funny since it has a chance to get Castor killed. If that doesn't do it then the rival houses and greedy political figures want to use the newly made Gladiator Castor as a main show for the masses. finally if the combat in the arena doesn't do it maybe the censors will get Castor for trafficking with the gods, who remain stubbornly not-as-dead-as-everyone-thought. By the end of this book not everyone is happy, but a lot more people will be dead and that's a great start to Castor's revenge.... buy the book and embrace cold frost's logic.

Don't die in the Arena!
