West Virginia 1906.

Ana Popesque arrives at Miss Ellwood's boarding house in Pine Glen to find she's boarding with a couple of very chatty housemates. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. This was a sweet Christmastime story. Another great story from Renee Riva. It was just what I needed this time of year. It was light and a feel good story. I loved the narrator too.

Renee Riva writes such sweet stories. This tale was so heartwarming and full of the Christmas Spirit. I especially loved the surprise at the end.

Christmas at Pine Cottage by Renee Riva and narrated by Susan J. Iannucci is a delightful Christmastime listen (really any time of the year). I recommend if you’re looking for something upbeat, light, with a hint of holidays and love.
What’s it about? Ana’s family is unable to afford her a visit home during the holiday, so she stays at the boarding house where she meets a fellow musician and learns more than she ever thought possible. Learning to live and love with music being at the center.

The narrator, Susan J. Iannucci, did a wonderful job. Easy-to-listen-to and smooth.

Overall I highly recommend. This is not my typical listen and I absolutely enjoyed it, ended up listening straight through.

Parental guidance/trigger warnings: there is a mild religious undertone but it’s not preachy (I’m not religious and it didn’t rub me the wrong way). I hesitate to say anything more due to spoilers so will say a couple deaths due to fire accident but not told in detail. No swearing.
