This historical comedy traces the personal and professional competition that drove these two newsmen to serve as the personal biographers of two stray dogs, and how these animals captured the hearts of a city with their loyalty and kindness.

Based on a true story of two stray dogs who roamed San Francisco in the 1860's and became famous, Lewis tells this worthy tale in tongue-in-cheek fashion. The story is cleverly written with subtle humor and grand adventures. The book should be called, "Bummer and Lazarus: A True Comedy and Adventure." I loved the characters, their voices, and the soundtrack.
