Mack begins her training at the mages' academy in the hope that, by complying, the stasis spell will be lifted from her old friend Mrs. Alcoon. However, once there, she finds herself surrounded by unfriendly adults and petulant teenagers, the majority of whom seem determined to see her fail.

Feeling attacked on all fronts, Mack finds it harder and harder to keep a rein on her temper. Forced to attend anger management classes and deal with the predatory attentions of Corrigan, the Lord Alpha of the shapeshifter world, her emotions start to unravel. The McKenzie is very powerful but displayed as
making bad choice after stupid mistake. Just growing up around pack should have clued her in more. Hopefully the Author intends to evolve this main character and soon. otherwise good storyline and Narrator.

Can anyone be this naive?

The Story:

As with the first two books, this one keeps the trends going strong. Characters old and new continue to be a boundless source of entertainment, with varied dynamics and most of your archetypes covered. The world has never been the deepest, but remains completely enticing and ever the interesting setting regardless. On the whole, this book delivered very well, until.... Without giving spoilers-level details, certain events towards the end of the book were needlessly cruel to certain characters. I see them for the plot drivers they were, but personally they felt a bit too much like a slap in the face. Yes, something had to happen, but I feel it could have been executed differently, so that irked me, but the book was still worth it.

Mackenzie remainds me of Kate Daniels a bit. The book is writen nicely with out unnecessary dramatic main problem. We finaly know deffinatly what she is so the futher books will be interesting to read!

Nice continuation

Delightful urban fantasy with humour, sarcasm, banter, and action and adventures. Along with some grumpy characters for good measure.
