Aunt Crete has spent a lifetime of toil catering to the needs of her family, especially her waspish sister, Carrie, and social-climbing niece, Louella. I appreciated Anne Hancock’s reading of Aunt Crete’s Emancipation. Grace Livingston Hill has done a skillful job of weaving in several angles of kindness and the freeing of a tender spirit from stifling perceptions, criticism, and bullying. We also see how our perceptions are sometimes misapplied when a pearl is in rags or a wench manipulating. Well worth the listen and taking to heart our own shortcomings to pass on kindness.

It was so cute and sweet I finished it in a day! Hard to find a comfy lil story like this these days, I’m buying more from this author now.

I grew up reading GLH books. She always taught you to love and respect even the unlovely. There is no malice or revenge in the heart of a Christian who's heart is filled with God's love. Everyone should benefit and be enriched from listening to this book. The reader did a superb job.
