Overall, I enjoyed the story and production of this audiobook. It did take me a little while to warm up to Alvin, the main character, and I wasn't particularly keen on the sound effects used with the audio. However, once I got past those things, the plot kept my interest to the end. I would listen to any sequel in this series if one came along. I thought the narrator did a good job with the audio production. A worth space/sci-fi adventure.

A world of corporations competing against governments with people caught in the middle. Overall, a compelling combination of space opera, intrigue and a bit of action making it a blast of a listen. On top of the interweaving story elements the cast of characters were skillfully brought to life to the listener by Josh Horowitz's voice acting.

This book involves a has been gamer named Alvin who works as a calibration tech for a large asteroid mining company. He is sent to retrieve a piece of equipment and it is expected he will be eliminated upon it's retrieval. The entire story is about his fumbling moves from a washed up failure to the leader of a group fighting to save humanity. He encounters scorn, love, hate, and suspicion that must be overcome for him to accomplish his task.

The narration is good except for the sound effects meant to simulate radio traffic and other issues. These parts are hard to understand an should be closer to normal speech.

The plot of the story has lots of action, a little sex, a little profanity and some violence. There are some funny parts too.
