Katelyn Rae
Mary Bennets heart has done the unforgivable it has allowed her to fall in love with a red coat like her sister Lydia!
Falling in love with an officer is certainly worthy of Miss Mary Bennet's displeasure. Discovering it is her lack of dowery which stands in her way and not her own character or connections to trade is truly insupportable. Yet, how is such an obstacle to be breeched? And how is the Bennet family's wallflower to find love?
Join Mary Bennet and her red coat colonel as they overcome many obstacles on their way to finding true love in this Pride & Prejudice inspired sequel, A Red Coat!

From where Mary and Colonel Fitzwilliam locked eyes, I was hooked. Katelyn Rae wrote a swoon-worthy love story. I loved where the Colonel tried wooing Mary. There was precision yet so much romance in his plans.
This was a low angst clean Pride & Prejudice continuation story.
A story for Mary

There’s a lot of introspection in the beginning, but the dialogue picks up as the story unfolds.
Narrator was skilled although at times I could not clearly distinguish between the characters and the male voices were not as deep as I prefer - but overall, her performance was good..
I will listen to this one again.

Delightful Mary story

The writing is good and the plot held my interest. I did notice some period and social inconsistencies, however. I thought it was a bit strange that Georgiana seemed to forget that Elizabeth was now mistress of the house. I enjoyed the very supportive roles of the Darcys and Fitzwilliams, who all wished for Mary and Richard’s happiness. There is a hint of a rival, but I didn’t find his arc to cause me too much angst.
The narration was very good, with strong expression and a performance that especially fit Mary’s character well. I found the other voices were not quite distinct enough between male and female, and sometimes I had to pause to work out just who was speaking. Even so, it remained an enjoyable listen, and I wouldn’t hesitate to listen to this narrator again.
