Editorial reviews

Audible Kids presents 14 Rats and a Rat Catcher, a bewitching little bedtime tale that is as strange and as it is fun. The deep-voiced James Cressey performs the tale, written by noted playwright Roderick Cook, in a proper British accent that floats over an intoxicating sound design. Complete with friendly, scheming rats (who sound a bit like upper-crust English gentlemen in a tavern) and orchestration that would fit well in a western saloon, the production bounces between the rats and their upstairs landlady, a crotchety old hag...or is she? Listeners will find out when she hires a friendly old rat catcher to inspect her basement.
