It's been almost a year since I've seen or heard from Jack. After our night in the hot tub, he kept his distance from our house, only seeing my mom now and then. It's too bad that mom and Jack were on the outs because I missed seeing him. I wanted him and undoubtedly compared him to every other guy I met. I was obsessing about him too much and was kind of glad when Mom told me we were going on a mini-vacation to Diane's cottage. Jack was supposed to come with us, but of course, he's not going now. Unfortunately, that means I have to drive alone, with the witch for two hours in her stuffy car, but at least I could stretch out in the back seat with my headphones in and daydream about Jack. They had lots of fun distractions like swimming, chilling in the hot tub, getting high with Dawn. I kept telling myself that he was going to show up out of nowhere and surprise my mom, but secretly take me away and make love to me in secret.
