Dissatisfied at work and looking for escape, journalist Harriet Taylor is only too glad to take an assignment as far away as possible from her London Office.
Heading to Braemar to investigate allegations of drug use at the Highland Games, Harriet is forced into a new way of reporting. Games' champion and subject of her article, Archie MacDonald is a brusque and evasive highlander and Harriet finds herself hot and bothered in more ways than one.
Harriet uncovers much more than she was expecting about Archie's past and his taste for domination. Will she keep her professionalism, or will Archie unleash a new feral side to this prim London reporter?

Their chemistry is instant, their emotional growth is engaging, and I love a story where two adults accidentally end up learning more about themselves than they planned. Harriet stepping into her desires and Archie working through his own layers? Loved that for them.
Now… the audio.
The single narrator just wasn’t giving. His voice is nice , truly but when there’s only one narrator, you usually get something to help separate the characters. A little inflection, a softer tone, a shift for the FMC… anything.
But here? Nothing. So Archie and Harriet end up sounding like the same person, and I had to really pay attention to keep track of who was speaking. Sometimes I even had to rewind because the dialogue blended together.
Overall:
The story is spicy, fun, and full of self‑discovery. Archie and Harriet shine. The audiobook, though, doesn’t quite support the experience. If you want the full effect, this one might land better on the page than in your headphones.
