The Spare Room

She takes her pillow off the bed at eleven-fifteen on a Tuesday.

No argument. No ultimatum. No slamming door. She walks ten feet down the hallway and she doesn't come back.

She has asked him to put his phone away at dinner. He agreed. She has asked him to plan a single date night in three years. He agreed.
