Love unearthed his heart from the cold, hard ground.

Now comes the fight to revive it.

Love. Just when Max Kelley thought he’d eradicated it from his life for good it snuck back in, in the form of his beautiful new sub, Sean. Something that Max is far from happy about. In fact, he fights it tooth and nail. Having his world decimated was hell on earth, an experience he’d go to any lengths to avoid repeating. Problem is, while his head is determined to protect his heart, his heart can’t stop thinking about Sean.

Sean, his perfect sub, his perfect match, his perfect everything. Which makes him that much more of a threat. Were Max to claim him and then lose him, the devastation would be far greater than even Kevin’s death. So, in order to ensure his heart and soul stay intact, he must once again eradicate love from his life. Eradicate Sean from his world. But Sean is a scrapper, just like Max, and refuses to give up without a fight. In their final showdown of fiery passion and wills, whose heart will come out in one piece?

Warning: This erotic, gay, BDSM romance contains intensely explicit sexual scenes both inside and out of the dungeon.

Note from the author: In keeping with the promise I made to my Upending Tad devotees, I've included a small side story with Tad and Scott in book 2 where we delve a bit further into the developments of their relationship, and all the wonderful ways they've been keeping each other's hearts pounding. So, be prepared for two more character point of views! Tad and Scott aren't going anywhere. XXO

Good story overall. I just thought Max was a little over-the-top as a character. I also don’t really understand the current trend in romance fiction of people getting all crazy about age gaps. In the case of Max and Sean, you’d have thought an eight-year age gap was a chasm, which is just not the case.

The intimate scenes were fire, and that was a lot of the saving grace for me. The narrator was excellent, too.

Good overall

Hot naughty and everything nice, and anything you can ask for.
As usual Kora never disappoint with her book.

I really enjoyed the books. As much as I loved Tad and Scott...I could have done without their POVs in Max and Sean. I looking forward to the next books. Kora grabbed me with the Alien Captivity books. New fan. Narration was in point.

Enjoyed it

I have been interested in these characters since reading Upending Tad.
I want to start out by saying this story has some triggers. Suicide is a big one. There is also self loathing. This is also a BDSM book. I’m sure there are other warnings, but those are the big ones. That I noticed.
Max and Sean’s story. I recommend reading the Upending Tad series first. The time lines in this duet over lap. Max can be a little frustrating at times, but I love how this story came together at the end. The ending made me have some feels.
Also having parts of Scott and Tad in this story was Easter Egg for me. Getting different perspectives of Scott and Tad was also a surprise.
I’m a huge fan of Michael Dean’s narrations and this duet isn’t any different. He brought these characters to life for me. Wow, he made the steamy scenes sound 🔥 🔥🔥.
I totally recommend reading these books.

Max And Sean 🥰 🥵🥵🥵

I enjoyed that we got the conclusion of Max and Sean's story however, the amount of internal monologing was way too much for my taste. A lot of it was the same repetitive back and forth between the two which would have been more palatable if not for the excessive wording throughout the book. Maybe the writing style worked better in the Up-ending Tad series because they were broken into short novellas, but this was very lengthy and slow in some parts. I loved thay we revisited Tad and Scott and got another POV from the original storyline as well as how their relationship continues to progress, but the way the chapters were broken up in the middle instead of new chapters was pretty confusing-especially if you were only listening to the audiobook. Overall I really liked the plot but the execution of the story needed some tweaking and trimming.

Overall Plot is Good
