When dreams and expectations clash in a flurry of sparks, an actress and an aristocrat find themselves searching for common ground. Lady Victoria Penchant has had enough scandal for one lifetime, and she’s sworn off drama for good. But when she makes an unexpected return to her family’s castle during high tourist season, drama is exactly what she finds—in the form of a Hollywood film crew and their sharp-tongued, stunning star, Sophia LeBlanc.

Sparks of every kind fly from their first encounter, and the drama doubles as Vic’s every decision draws her closer to Sophia and further from the expectations of the prestigious position she has been raised to protect. Sophia has worked and scraped and fought her way up from nothing to the brink of stardom. She’s spent her career taking direction from rich, pretty, privileged men, and she has no intention of letting some rich, pretty, privileged aristocrat stand in the way now that her wildest dreams are within reach.

She vows to stay in control of every situation during filming, but the Lady of the Manor proves to be an unexpectedly stubborn and alluring challenge to the goals she’s fought so hard to achieve. As the summer heats up, Vic and Sophia learn they have far more in common than their intense sexual attraction, but will that be enough to overcome the pressures of proud histories and find their way toward a new vision of forever?

There is drama, humour and very good narration.

A Lady and possibility Duchess to be in the future and the Actress meet by the swinging of a Rapier. Not only does Sophia not scare, she disarms Victoria.

They seem to but heads, as Sophia of course sees Vic as nothing more than as the rich and entitled with no reguard for the lower class people. Sophia is opinionated, never apologetic, and doesn't treat Vic any different then she would a co-worker. Vic actually liked this about Sophia.

Then Sophia starts getting to know the real Victoria. Sophia wanted to break Vic, but in the process Vic broke the shield around her heart.

Mature Content is very well written and as for heat 🔥 index I give it 🌶️🌶️

Really Enjoyed This

This was well narrated and kept the listener engaged. There were a few parts that irked me and I felt the MCs didn’t stand up for themselves like I hoped. I liked how the author wrapped the story up and the epilogue was super cute.

The narration of this novel excelled at enhancing the words of the author. The plot, point of view and the dialogue were exactly on point. Each of the characters played there part in this romance. The ups and downs of the plot led the reader to enjoy not just the lead protagonists but also the support characters. Spangler as an author has the ability not only to write good dialogue but also to describe the scenery so the reader can visualise it whilst reading the words. An enjoyable audio book that will remain one of my favourites for a long time.

Exceptional Romance
