I absolutely loved Lauren Rowe as a Narrator in this one. It is not the typical Lauren Rowe book. This book was intriguing and different. It definitely isn’t your typical romance or suspense book. It was though brilliantly written and had wonderful elements and surprises.

What made the experience of listening to Countdown to Killing Kurtis the most enjoyable?

The narrator was hilarious! I read this in ebook format first, and laughed til I cried, but the audio is ten times better!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Buttercup, because she is so 'matter-of-fact' throughout the whole story, that she's going to kill her husband. Her euphemisms are downright hilarious!

Have you listened to any of Lauren Rowe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I listened to the first book of the Club series. that was a dual-narration, and really good, too. Countdown is still my favorite, though.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but unfortunately life got in the way.

Any additional comments?

An absolute brilliant read! This book will have you on the edge of your seat and the ending will shock you!
Buttercup is hilarious with her sweet southern accent and internal dialogue! The story is dark and twisted but I freaking loved it! A definite must read!

I'm sorry, I usually love this author but this novel?; not so much. I guess I expected the bad guys to ultimately get what was coming to them not that innocent people would be killed out of greed and that the one that perpetrated the evil would get everything they wanted, in the end. I guess I'm just too Midwestern old fashion and perhaps somewhat naive. But if the only way to acomplish your dreams is to hurt other people and step on their dead bodies on the way up, then I am going to stay in my little piece of the bible belt and do things the old fashioned way.
